Anthropic Eyes Mid-November IPO Amid AI Competition
Anthropic is considering launching its initial public offering as early as mid-November, according to Bloomberg News. The AI model maker could begin formal IPO marketing as early as the week of Nov. 9.
The company is expected to go public by the end of the year and potentially match or exceed the size of SpaceX's IPO, which valued at $1.8 trillion to $2 trillion. This comes amid increased competition from OpenAI and scrutiny of AI safety.
Anthropic reported a net loss of almost $42 billion in 2025, compared with about $8.3 billion in 2024. Revenue rose to roughly $4.6 billion from $386 million, with over $34 billion of the 2025 net loss coming from changes in the fair value of Anthropic's liabilities.
Meanwhile, gold prices edged higher after softer US inflation data reduced expectations for an October Federal Reserve rate hike. Spot gold rose 0.49% to $4,176.16 an ounce, while US gold futures for December delivery settled 0.54% higher at $4,209.20.
Oil prices jumped more than 4% a barrel as concerns over global fuel supplies intensified, with December Brent futures settling at $102.46 a barrel and US West Texas Intermediate futures ending at $93.17 a barrel. Treasury yields pulled back after longer-dated rates reached their highest levels in more than two decades.
