Anthropic Eyes Mid-November IPO Amid AI Model Maker's Record-Loss Year
Anthropic is reportedly considering an initial public offering (IPO) as early as mid-November, which could allow the artificial intelligence model maker to begin trading before the Thanksgiving holiday. The company's IPO marketing could start as soon as the week of November 9.
The valuation of Anthropic is estimated to be between $1.8 trillion and $2 trillion by prospective investors. This would make its potential listing comparable in size to SpaceX's IPO, according to previous Bloomberg reporting.
Anthropic reported a net loss of almost $42 billion in 2025, compared with about $8.3 billion in 2024. Revenue rose to roughly $4.6 billion from $386 million during the same period. The company's liabilities fair value changes contributed significantly to its 2025 net loss.
Meanwhile, gold prices edged higher after softer US inflation data reduced expectations for an October Federal Reserve rate hike. Spot gold rose 0.49% to $4,176.16 an ounce, while US gold futures for December delivery settled 0.54% higher at $4,209.20.
Oil prices jumped more than 4% a barrel as concerns over global fuel supplies intensified. The December Brent futures price settled at $102.46 a barrel, up 4.54%, while the US West Texas Intermediate futures ended at $93.17, up 3.04%. Higher oil prices and persistent inflation have contributed to volatility in longer-dated yields.
