Anthropic Eyes Record-Breaking IPO Amid Rising AI Competition
Anthropic is considering launching its initial public offering (IPO) as soon as mid-November, allowing it to begin trading before the Thanksgiving holiday.
The company's potential listing comes amid increased competition from OpenAI and scrutiny of AI safety. Anthropic reported a net loss of almost $42 billion in 2025, compared with about $8.3 billion in 2024, but revenue rose to roughly $4.6 billion from $386 million.
Prospective investors reportedly value the company at between $1.8 trillion and $2 trillion, potentially making it a record-breaking IPO, matching or exceeding the size of SpaceX's listing.
Meanwhile, gold prices edged higher after softer US inflation data reduced expectations for an October Federal Reserve rate hike, with spot gold rising 0.49% to $4,176.16 an ounce.
