Anti-LNG Activists Tour Clare to Oppose Shannon Estuary Projects
International activists opposed to liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects will visit County Clare next week as part of a campaign to halt terminal developments in the Shannon Estuary. The tour includes a screening of the documentary Gaslit at the Temple Gate Hotel in Ennis on Sunday.
Currently, plans are in progress to build an LNG terminal in Ballylongford and Ireland’s first strategic gas reserve at Cahercon in Kildysart. Stop Shannon LNG spokesperson Cristóir King argues that the Cahercon project will not benefit the local economy.
