APA Corporation's stock price surged by 9% today due to strong second-quarter results and an improved oil production outlook. According to Quiver Quantitative, the company's adjusted production for the quarter was 347,000 barrels of oil equivalent (BOE) per day, exceeding its guidance.

The U.S. oil production reached 123,500 barrels per day, also ahead of plan. APA generated $738 million in free cash flow during the quarter and repaid $752 million of near-term bond debt in the first half of 2026. The company's total debt is down $2.3 billion from year-end 2024.

Management raised its full-year U.S. oil production guidance to 123,000 barrels per day, kept U.S. capital spending unchanged, and lowered lease operating expense guidance. Additionally, the expected 2026 exit run-rate cost savings target was lifted to $500 million.

The recent jump in crude prices due to supply uncertainty around the Strait of Hormuz has also contributed to APA's positive performance. This is seen as a broader tailwind for oil-focused producers like APA.
