Appeals Court Allows $4.7B Loan for Mozambique LNG Project
The US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit has decided not to block a $4.7 billion loan from the Trump administration to finance a liquefied natural gas project in Mozambique.
The TotalEnergies project, which was first approved in 2019, aims to tap an estimated 65 trillion cubic feet of gas in the Cabo Delgado province.
The loan, the biggest in the agency's history, was revived last year as part of the administration's efforts to boost fossil fuels both at home and abroad.
