Aramco Creates Dedicated Gas Division Amid LNG Ambitions
Saudi Aramco is planning to reorganize its corporate structure by creating a dedicated gas division, according to recent reports. The move aims to support the company's growing focus on natural gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG) while providing flexibility for future fundraising initiatives.
The proposed restructuring would establish a standalone platform for managing Aramco's domestic gas resources and expanding its international LNG portfolio. This new business structure could also facilitate future listings of selected business units, allowing the company to raise capital while maintaining control over its core operations.
This strategy mirrors a broader trend among Gulf energy companies, which have increasingly monetized parts of their businesses through public offerings and infrastructure transactions. ADNOC has listed stakes in gas, drilling, and fuel retail operations, while both ADNOC and Aramco have attracted investment through pipeline and infrastructure deals.
