Aramco Diversifies Oil Export Routes Amid Global Supply Chain Risks
Saudi Aramco is evaluating two new export routes for its crude oil and increasing international storage capacity to maintain continuity of supply in case of disruptions.
The company's president, Amin Nasser, explained during a visit to Tokyo that Aramco already has three major maritime corridors for exporting oil: the Strait of Hormuz, Bab el-Mandeb, and access to the Sumed pipeline system in Egypt.
Aramco's existing infrastructure allows it to recover affected operations within days and redistribute shipments across different routes when difficulties arise on any of its regularly used corridors.
The company is also studying new routes for exporting oil, with two potential alternatives currently under evaluation. These additional routes would expand the logistical options available for Saudi crude and reduce the supply chain's exposure to disruptions in maritime corridors or existing infrastructure.
