Aramco Surges on Higher Oil Prices as US-Iran Tensions Escalate
Saudi energy giant Aramco reported a significant increase in its second-quarter net income due to rising global oil prices caused by the ongoing US-Iran conflict. The company's net income reached $32.7 billion, up 44% from $22.67 billion in the same quarter last year.
The US-Iran war has disrupted regional supply chains and driven global oil prices higher, allowing Aramco to capitalize on its diverse asset base. The company's president and CEO, Amin H. Nasser, said that the unprecedented supply disruption defined the performance of the company during the first six months.
Aramco also reported a 33% increase in net income for the first half of the year, reaching $65.2 billion compared to $48.68 billion in the same period last year. Nasser highlighted that Aramco maintained business continuity and sustained production despite the challenging regional environment.
