Aramco Surges on War-Driven Oil Prices
Saudi Aramco's net income has surged by 44% in the second quarter of this year, reaching $32.7 billion. This significant increase is largely attributed to the volatile oil and gas prices resulting from the ongoing war in the Middle East.
The state-owned majority company reported a net income of 122.6 billion Saudi riyals from April to June, compared to 85 billion riyals in the same period last year. Adjusted net income came in at 125.1 billion Saudi riyals ($33.4 billion), exceeding the median analyst consensus of $31.16 billion.
Aramco's president and CEO, Amin H. Nasser, attributed their ability to maintain business continuity despite supply disruptions to their 'diverse asset base and multi-decade planning'. He specifically mentioned strategic infrastructure such as the East-West Pipeline, storage capacity, and export terminals.
