Aramco Turns to Buying Fuel Amid Houthi-Induced Shortages

Saudi oil giant Aramco is pivoting from producing to buying fuel amid shortages caused by Houthi attacks on its infrastructure.

The company will be seeking diesel cargoes in a pricing window operated by Platts, a unit of S&P Global, according to brokers monitoring the activity.

This move comes after September saw a significant escalation in Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia's fuel infrastructure, including the targeting of critical East-West oil pipeline and the Jazan processing plant on the Red Sea coast.

Aramco had declined to comment on its activity in the market for diesel and gasoline.
