Argent LNG Clears Regulatory Hurdle for Louisiana Export Project

Argent LNG has cleared an early regulatory hurdle for its proposed Louisiana export project. The US Department of Energy (DOE) has authorized exports to free trade agreement (FTA) countries up to 25 million tonnes per year (Mt/y). This milestone allows the project to move forward, but broader international exports remain pending.

The DOE's decision is a significant step for Argent LNG, which aims to ship liquefied natural gas (LNG) from its proposed terminal in Fourchon, Louisiana. The project still requires Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) construction approval before it can proceed.
