Gold Prices to Hold Steady at $4,000 Amid Fed Uncertainty
Gold prices are expected to remain steady around $4,000 an ounce through the summer as investors wait for clearer signals from the Federal Reserve on its monetary policy. Market strategist Aakash Doshi from State Street Asset Management believes that the Fed may hold rates steady for the rest of the year, which could support gold prices.
Despite high real yields and recent price resistance above $4,100, gold remains supported by strong central bank and Chinese demand. Doshi forecasts that gold could reach $4,750 to $5,500 within six to nine months, potentially hitting $5,000 in the first half of next year if interest rates decline, especially after upcoming U.S. employment data releases.
Gold's role as a monetary asset is reinforced by rising global debt and geopolitical tensions, making it a key diversification tool amid uncertain markets.
