Argent LNG Taps Tecnimont for Front-End Engineering Design
Tecnimont USA, part of the MAIRE group, has signed a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) contract with Argent LNG to advance its planned liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility in Port Fourchon, Louisiana. The project aims to reach a total capacity of 25 million metric tons per annum (MTPA) of LNG.
The FEED phase will define the engineering for Argent LNG's future facility, including project execution planning and preparation of necessary documentation. This work will refine the project's technical characteristics, reduce uncertainties, and provide clarity on costs and financial viability before a Final Investment Decision (FID).
Argent LNG continues to progress through the FERC regulatory process, with the proposed facility in Lafourche Parish having a feed gas capacity of approximately 3.45 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d). The project is planned in phases, with the first phase expected to have a capacity of around 12 million tons per year.
After completing the FEED engineering and FERC permitting process, Argent LNG will make its Final Investment Decision, potentially leading to an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) phase. The project is designed around modular liquefaction solutions, allowing for gradual capacity addition.
