Argentina and US Launch $7B Infrastructure Initiative for Energy Exports
Argentina and the United States have launched the Andes-Atlantic Corridor, a major infrastructure initiative to boost energy exports and strengthen supply chains. The $7 billion investment aims to connect Argentina's resource-rich regions with Atlantic ports through investments in transportation, energy, and digital infrastructure.
The corridor will focus on developing Argentina LNG, a large-scale export project being developed by YPF, Eni, and XRG. This project has applied for benefits under Argentina's Large Investment Incentive Regime and is expected to create a new export platform for Argentine gas.
Beyond LNG, the initiative covers critical minerals such as lithium and copper, along with pipelines, railways, waterways, ports, power-generation and transmission infrastructure, and telecommunications. Improved transport links from Argentina's mineral-producing northwest and Vaca Muerta toward Atlantic export terminals could reduce logistical bottlenecks and support larger commodity flows.
