Golar LNG reports that its Southern Energy (SESA) subsidiary has received strong interest from prospective buyers for additional liquefied natural gas (LNG) volumes beyond an existing agreement to sell 2 million tonnes annually to Securing Energy for Europe (SEFE).

The eight-year SEFE deal is part of Golar's Argentina export project, which involves the use of two floating LNG vessels: FLNG Hilli and FLNG Esperanza. The vessels are expected to operate near each other in the Gulf of San Matías offshore Argentina.

According to Golar, proposals from prospective buyers indicate strong interest in additional LNG volumes, providing an early indication of demand beyond those already contracted. The export project is centered around converting Argentina's natural gas resources into LNG for export markets.
