Argentina Secures $900M for Pipeline Feeding First Large-Scale LNG Exports
Argentina has secured $900 million in financing for its long-delayed LNG export project. The funds will be used to build a 472-km pipeline from the Vaca Muerta shale formation to the Atlantic coast in Rio Negro province.
The consortium behind the pipeline, which includes Pan American Energy and YPF, has estimated the total cost of the project at $1.3 billion. The remaining $400 million will be funded by shareholders.
The seven-year loan was structured by Citi, J.P. Morgan, Santander, and Itau, with BBVA, Bladex, Barclays, ICBC, and Bank of China also participating in the banking syndicate.
