US Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh's speech at Jackson Hole on Friday has sparked speculation about an interest rate hike in September 2026, sending shockwaves through global markets.

Bets for a 25 bps interest rate hike rose to 55.7% from 35.4%, according to CME Group's FedWatch tool, as policymakers expressed concerns about underlying inflation returning to its 2% target.

Anuj Gupta, a SEBI-registered market expert, warned that the Indian stock market could face pressure due to Warsh's speech, predicting a flat-to-negative start for key benchmark indices Nifty 50 and Sensex on Monday.

Gupta also suggested that gold and silver rates may see selling pressure due to the anticipated US Fed rate hike, with immediate support levels at $4,450 and $64/oz respectively.
