Argentina Smashes Corn Export Records Amid Weather Worries
Argentina's corn exports reached an all-time high in July, surpassing 5.14 million metric tons, according to the Rosario grains exchange. This achievement underscores the strength of Argentina's exceptional crop, despite concerns over rainy weather and harvest delays that may impact remaining grain.
The record-breaking export volume marks a significant milestone for Argentina as a major global supplier, particularly during a time when Northern Hemisphere buyers are awaiting their own harvests. Earlier this week, the Rosario exchange raised its estimate for Argentina's 2025/26 corn crop to 70.5 million metric tons.
However, export logistics have been complicated by recurring rains, which slowed grain drying and delayed fieldwork. Nationally, Argentina's corn harvest was only 89% complete as of the report date, 8 percentage points below its five-year average.
