Gas prices in Arizona have taken a slight dip this week due to a drop in crude oil prices and optimism about the Strait of Hormuz resuming normal operations. According to AAA Arizona, gas prices fell 7 cents over the past week to settle at $4.42 a gallon.

In Peoria specifically, Arco at 8271 W. Thunderbird Road has the lowest per-gallon price, which was reported as $3.95 on August 7 by GasBuddy.

While gas prices have decreased, they are still higher than last year's prices, with Arizonans paying about $1.19 more per gallon compared to this point in 2025, according to Aldo Vazquez, spokesperson for AAA Mountain West Group.
