Asian Fuel Ethanol Marker Hits $645.67/m³ in Philippines Amid Futures and Export Price Surge

The Asian fuel ethanol marker, tracked by S&P Global Commodity Insights (Platts), reached its highest level in weeks on August 17, 2026, at $645.67 per cubic meter (USD/m³) in the Philippines.

This increase came amid a simultaneous firming of Chicago-listed ethanol futures and a rebound in Brazilian export prices.

The main driver behind the move was the ethanol futures traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), whose methodology is directly tied to the Platts assessment. The front-month contract climbed to its highest level since spring, while the structure of the following contract months shifted in an unusual way.

Further up the chain, corn futures prices on the CBOT rebounded after a pullback in the previous session, supporting the broader ethanol complex.
