Asian Markets Surge Amid Global Volatility
The global markets are exhibiting mixed behavior as the trading week comes to a close. While Asian indices, led by Japan's Nikkei 225, which rose 1.24%, showed resilience, the US saw a modest pullback across major benchmarks overnight.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped by 0.26% and the NASDAQ Composite closed in the red, with both indices reflecting broader regional caution. However, the E-Mini S&P 500 futures have since rebounded slightly in the pre-market, up 0.19%, suggesting some stabilization ahead of the Asian close.
The GIFT Nifty is currently trading at 22,811.50, indicating a flat to slightly lower opening, with FIIs selling ₹9,980.22 crore and DIIs buying ₹6,952.71 crore on September 29. This divergence in FII/DII activity has been a consistent theme, providing support to the market levels.
The Indian Rupee remained stable against the US Dollar at 95.97, while gold prices surged by over 0.70% to $4,209.60, driven by safe-haven demand.
