Asian Markets Track Wall Street Gains Amid Ongoing Middle East Uncertainty
Asian markets followed Wall Street's lead on Monday, with Japan's Nikkei 225 leading advances after stocks rose on the US exchanges.
The oil prices also rebounded as uncertainty over Middle East conflict efforts persisted.
In early European trading, Germany's DAX rose 0.3% to 26,411.01, while the CAC 40 in Paris edged 0.1% lower to 8,703.73.
The future for the S&P 500 was up 0.1%, while that for the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 0.1%.
Tokyo Electron climbed 4.1% and Advantest rose 6.4% in Tokyo, as technology companies pulled the Nikkei higher.
However, South Korean markets were more modest, with the Kospi adding 0.7% to 6,299.66 as major chipmakers slipped, with Samsung Electronics losing 0.4% and SK Hynix dropping 0.1%.
Analysts said foreign investors were selling shares in Big Tech companies to lock in profits from recent gains and rebalance holdings into other industries, such as defense contractors.
