Asian Stocks and Bonds Rally with Wall Street, Oil Prices Extend Decline
Asian stocks and bonds are on the rise following a rally in Wall Street. The MSCI regional equities gauge advanced 0.3% as South Korea's Kospi index led gains, mirroring the S&P 500 Index's 1.1% surge on Thursday.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 Index climbed 1.7%, and a key gauge of chipmakers jumped 3.1%. This rebound in US stocks came after the Federal Reserve's first rate hike since 2023.
Oil prices are also declining, with Brent crude dipping below $104.00 a barrel for a third day. Lower energy costs could reduce pressure on consumer prices and give central banks more room to assess the impact of tighter monetary policy.
