Asian Stocks Surge on Wall Street Rally and Lower Oil Prices
Asian shares were mostly higher on Friday, boosted by a rally on Wall Street and declining oil prices. The move was seen as a positive sign for global markets.
The Japanese benchmark Nikkei 225 gained 1.4% to finish at 65,018.95 after the Bank of Japan raised its benchmark interest rate to 1.25% from 1.0%, a 31-year high.
Falling oil prices and easing pressure from the bond market have been working in favor of Wall Street shares, which are now helping global market sentiments.
The recent slide in Brent crude oil, from nearly $110 earlier in the week to $102.57 per barrel on Friday, is also contributing to the positive sentiment.
