Asian Stocks Tumble as Oil Prices Surge Amid US-Iran Tensions
The Asian stock market fell on Tuesday following losses on Wall Street, while oil prices rose due to uncertainty over US-Iran talks and the Strait of Hormuz. The US Treasury yield paused its runup after reaching its highest level in roughly two decades at around 5.23%.
The S&P 500 slipped 0.8%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.7%, and the Nasdaq composite dropped 0.9% on Monday.
The Australian central bank lifted its benchmark rate to the highest level in 15 years, while Japan's Nikkei 225 lost 0.6% to 65,481.27.
