Australian Shares Mixed as Oil Prices Surge

Australian shares have had a mixed start to the week, with miners leading the decline and banks, utilities, and healthcare stocks seeing gains.

The ASX200 index opened lower on Monday after oil prices jumped, which in turn pushed up bond yields. This has put pressure on domestic interest rates, which are expected to rise soon.

Despite this, some sectors managed to buck the trend. Banks and utilities saw increases, while healthcare stocks also gained ground.
