Azerbaijan Supplies 12.8 Bcm of Gas to Europe Last Year
Azerbaijan has been a significant supplier of natural gas to Europe, with Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov stating that approximately 12.8 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas were supplied to European countries last year.
The information was shared during the 4th Meeting of the High-Level Energy Dialogue between Azerbaijan and the European Union (EU), which took place in Brussels, Kingdom of Belgium. The meeting highlighted the importance of energy relations between the two parties and emphasized their mutual interest in developing cooperation to strengthen security of energy supply and advance a clean energy partnership.
The minister noted that half of Azerbaijan's gas exports are destined for European countries, with supplies exceeding 7 bcm in the first eight months of this year. Additionally, Azerbaijani gas was supplied to Germany and Austria for the first time this year, bringing the number of EU Member States receiving Azerbaijani gas to 10.
