The Province of British Columbia has taken a significant step forward in enabling FortisBC to expand its Tilbury Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Facility, as part of the government's Look West strategy.

The expansion is expected to bring in over $800 million in GDP during construction and create approximately 1,100 jobs each year for four years. It will also provide tax revenue of $260 million and generate up to $15-$20 million per year in natural gas royalties for the Province.

Musqueam Indian Band will have the opportunity to become an equity partner in the project through a partnership with FortisBC, advancing economic reconciliation while supporting a cleaner alternative to traditional marine fuels like diesel.
