Baijiada Lands $40B Copper Foil Deal Amid Aerospace Demand Surge

Nord Holding's subsidiary Baijiada has signed a significant copper foil supply agreement with CALB, a major player in the lithium battery market. The framework agreement covers the period from 2026 to 2028 and involves a total supply of 373,000 mt of copper foil over three years.

The contract value is estimated at around 40 billion yuan, based on current tax-inclusive average prices. The volumes are expected to increase significantly year by year, with Baijiada supplying 58,000 mt in 2026 (41% of its current annual capacity), 130,000 mt in 2027 (93%), and 185,000 mt in 2028 (132%).

Nord Holding plans to expand its global capacity to 300,000 mt/year by 2030, catering to both lithium battery copper foil and high-end electronic circuit copper foil demand. The growth in demand for high-end copper foil is driven by the aerospace sector, particularly the increasing need for high-grade copper foil in AI servers and new energy aircraft.

To meet this growing demand, Baijiada will need to increase its production capacity through expansion and technological transformation. If it fails to do so, it may face a significant performance gap.
