BAJUS Raises Gold Price by Tk 4,374 Per Bhori Amid Rising Pure Gold Value
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has raised the price of gold in the country by Tk 4,374 per bhori. This move comes into effect from 10am on Saturday, according to a notice issued by BAJUS.
The new prices for gold, including VAT, are as follows: 22-carat gold will now cost Tk 234,038 per bhori, 21-carat gold Tk 223,541 per bhori, 18-carat gold Tk 191,931 per bhori, and traditional gold Tk 156,822 per bhori.
BAJUS attributed the price adjustment to the rising value of pure gold in the local market. The trade body also clarified that VAT is already included in the selling price of gold and silver ornaments, so it cannot be charged separately from customers.
