Bangladesh Approves LNG Procurement at Varying Prices for Growing Energy Demand

The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) has approved the procurement of four liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes to meet Bangladesh's growing energy demand. The prices for these cargoes range from $23.98 to $28.03 per million British thermal units (MMBtu). Three of the cargoes will be procured through international quotations, while one will be purchased from Saudi Aramco's trading arm under a government-to-government arrangement.

The 49th LNG cargo is scheduled for delivery on September 25-26 and will be supplied by Aramco Trading Singapore at $27.54 per MMBtu. The 50th cargo, set to arrive on October 1-2, will be purchased from BP Singapore Pte Ltd at $28.03 per MMBtu. The 51st cargo, scheduled for delivery on October 5-6, will come from Vitol Asia Pte Ltd at $26.6688 per MMBtu.

An additional cargo will be procured under a government-to-government arrangement with Aramco Trading Singapore Pte Ltd at $23.98 per MMBtu. This cargo is scheduled for delivery on September 10, 2026 and will be purchased as an 'Additional Quantity' under the existing agreement.
