Bangladesh Gas Crisis Deepens Amid LNG Supply Shortfall

A severe gas shortage has gripped Bangladesh, disrupting CNG filling stations and causing long queues for motorists.

The crisis worsened on Tuesday after liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies fell again, despite a partial resumption of operations at one terminal.

The reduced LNG supply is attributed to rough weather at sea preventing the unloading of an import vessel from the Maheshkhali terminal in Cox's Bazar.

The country's daily gas demand stands at 3.8 billion cubic feet, but supplies have fallen below 2.2 billion cubic feet a day.
