Bangladesh Gas Supply Boosted by Rising LNG Imports

According to recent data from the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources in Bangladesh, the country's gas supply has improved due to higher imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG). The total gas supply reached 2,610 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) at noon on Tuesday, with LNG accounting for nearly 38% of the supply. Domestic gas fields supplied 1,620 mmcfd, while regasified LNG contributed 990 mmcfd to meet overall demand.

The increased supply is expected to ease pressure on the country's gas distribution system, particularly for industries and power plants that have faced supply constraints. The growing role of LNG in supporting Bangladesh's gas network is becoming increasingly important as domestic production declines and demand remains high.
