Bangladesh Gas Supply Sees Slight Bump on Higher LNG Feed
The national grid in Bangladesh received an increase in gas supply on September 15, driven mainly by higher re-gasified liquefied natural gas (LNG) feed. According to Petrobangla's latest data, the national grid received 2,478.1 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) of gas at noon on that day, up from 2,345.3 mmcfd at the same time on September 14.
This represents an increase of 132.8 mmcfd, or around 5.7 percent, in one day. Compared to the country's total gas production and supply capacity of 3,854 mmcfd, the actual supply on September 15 was 64.3 percent of capacity, compared with 60.9 percent a day earlier.
The increase in LNG supply was mainly driven by Rupantarita Prakritik Gas Company Limited, which supplied 858.4 mmcfd on September 15, up from 731.6 mmcfd the previous day, an increase of 126.8 mmcfd, or 17.3 percent.
