Bangladesh Gold Price Drops by Tk 2,158 per Bhari Amid Local Market Decline
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has once again reduced the price of gold in Bangladesh. This latest reduction brings the price of 22-carat gold down to Tk 230,772 per bhari, including value-added tax. The revised price came into effect at 10:00am on Monday, according to a BAJUS press release.
This is not the first time this month that BAJUS has reduced the price of gold. Just two days ago, they cut the price by Tk 1,690 per bhari, setting it at Tk 232,930. The latest adjustment follows a decline in the local market price of refined gold.
Under the revised rates, the prices of different types of gold have been adjusted as follows: 21-carat gold now costs Tk 220,391 per bhari, while 18-carat gold has been set at Tk 189,248 per bhari. Gold produced through the traditional method is now priced at Tk 154,256 per bhari.
BAJUS has also reduced silver prices. The price of 22-carat silver has been set at Tk 4,490 per bhari, including VAT. The prices of 21-carat, 18-carat, and traditional-method silver have been reduced to Tk 4,315, Tk 3,732, and Tk 2,799 per bhari, respectively.
It's worth noting that BAJUS has adjusted gold prices 118 times so far this year - comprising 58 increases, 59 decreases, and one adjustment related to VAT. They have also revised silver prices 72 times this year, with 36 increases and 36 decreases.
