Bangladesh Gold Price Jumps by Tk 190 as Global Market Influences Local Rates
The price of 22-carat gold has increased in Bangladesh by Tk 190 per gram, taking effect on Wednesday morning. According to the latest rate announced by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus), 22-carat hallmarked gold now costs Tk 19,785 per gram, compared with Tk 19,595 on Tuesday.
The association made this adjustment after reviewing market conditions, particularly the increase in the price of pure gold. The new rate puts 21-carat gold at Tk 18,895 per gram and 18-carat gold at Tk 16,225 per gram.
Silver prices have also increased alongside gold, with 22-carat silver now costing Tk 370 per gram, up from Tk 355. Bajus clarified that VAT is included in the fixed selling price of jewellery and cannot be charged separately to customers.
The latest fixed prices will remain in effect at jewellery shops across the country until further notice.
