Bangladesh Gold Price Spike: 22-Carat Gold Now at BDT 230,772
On October 4, 2026, the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) announced an increase in gold prices in the local bullion market. The new prices took effect on September 30, 2026. According to the announcement, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori has been increased by 2,216 taka, from the previous price of 2,28,556 taka to the new price of 2,30,772 taka.
The prices for other types of gold have also been increased. The price of 21-carat gold per bhori has been increased by 2,099 taka, from the previous price of 2,18,292 taka to the new price of 2,20,391 taka. Similarly, the price of 18-carat gold per bhori has been increased by 1,808 taka, from the previous price of 1,87,440 taka to the new price of 1,89,248 taka.
The traditional (Sonaton) gold per bhori has been increased by 1,458 taka, from the previous price of 1,53,148 taka to the new price of 1,54,606 taka. Gold is categorized based on its purity using the carat system. The common purity levels are 24 Carat (99.9% pure gold), 22 Carat (91.67% pure gold), 21 Carat (87.5% pure gold), and 18 Carat (75% pure gold).
