Bangladesh Gold Prices Plummet as Domestic Market Sees Tejabi Gold Decline

Gold prices have fallen in Bangladesh for the latest time after the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) cut the price of 22-carat gold by Tk1,691 per bhori. The new rate took effect at 10am on Saturday and will remain in place until further notice.

The association said the adjustment was made after the domestic market saw a decline in the price of raw gold, known locally as tejabi gold. Bajus's Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring approved the new rates at a meeting held at 9am on Saturday.

Under the new rates, 22-carat hallmarked gold is priced at Tk19,970 per gram, including VAT. Buyers will have to pay making charges separately, with the amount depending on the design of the jewellery.
