Bangladesh Gold Prices Plunge Amid Market Adjustments

The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) announced a reduction in gold prices in the local bullion market on July 24, 2026. According to the new price, the cost of 22-carat gold per bhori has been reduced by 3,324 taka, from the previous price of BDT 2,24,182 to BDT 2,20,858.

The prices of 21-carat and 18-carat gold have also decreased by 3,150 taka and 2,683 taka respectively. Traditional (Sonaton) gold per bhori has been reduced by 2,216 taka from the previous price of BDT 1,50,232 to BDT 1,48,016.

The new prices are effective as of July 24, 2026. Buyers must pay more than the set price when purchasing gold jewelry due to a 5% VAT added for selling gold ornaments and a minimum making charge of BDT 3,500 per bhori.
