The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has increased gold prices in the local market. The price of 22-carat gold has risen by Tk 9,856 per bhori, bringing the new price to Tk 232,930 per bhori, including VAT. This is the 98th adjustment to gold prices in Bangladesh this year.

According to BAJUS, the increase was prompted by a rise in pure gold (acid gold) prices in the local market. The association has revised gold prices based on the overall market situation. Hallmarked 22-carat cadmium gold jewellery is now priced at Tk 19,970 per gram, which translates to approximately Tk 232,960 per bhori (11.664 grams).

The price of other types of gold has also been adjusted: 21-carat gold is priced at Tk 19,075 per gram, while 18-carat gold will cost Tk 16,380 per gram. Traditional-method gold has been priced at Tk 13,380 per gram.
