Bangladesh Gold Prices Soar as BAJUS Announces New Rates
The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) announced an increase in gold prices on Thursday, August 20, 2026. According to the new price, 22-carat gold per bhori has been increased by 3,849 taka, from the previous price of 2,36,779 taka to the new price of 2,40,628 taka.
Similarly, 21-carat gold per bhori has been increased by 3,616 taka, from the previous price of 2,26,165 taka to the new price of 2,29,781 taka. 18-carat gold per bhori has been increased by 3,149 taka, from the previous price of 1,94,206 taka to the new price of 1,97,355 taka.
Gold is categorized based on its purity using the carat (or karat) system. The primary unit for measuring gold in Bangladesh is 'bhori' (ভরি), but grams are also used for precision and international transactions. 1 bhori = 11.664 grams, and it is the standard traditional unit used in Bangladesh for buying and selling gold.
