Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has expanded its gas evacuation network in Assam, connecting the Khoraghat GGS-1 field to the North East Gas Grid (NEGG). This move will enable the utilization of nearly 1 lakh Standard Cubic Metres (SCM) of gas per day from ONGC's Jorhat asset.

The commissioning of the Dergaon, Dimapur Pipeline has also connected Nagaland with both the North East Gas Grid and the National Gas Grid. This expanded network is expected to boost regional gas availability, curb flaring, and strengthen the foundation for a gas-based economy across the North-East.

ONGC is planning to connect more producing fields to the NEGG by developing hook-up facilities at Jantapathar and Kasomarigaon. These connections will enable the utilization of additional fields of the Jorhat Asset, further increasing gas availability in the region.
