The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has increased gold prices in the country for the 116th time this year. The price of best-quality 22-carat gold has risen by Tk 1,691 per bhori (11.664 grams). With Value-Added Tax included, the price of a bhori of 22-carat gold jewellery now stands at Tk 234,621.

The new prices came into effect at 10am on Saturday, according to a BAJUS notice. The decision to raise the prices was taken at a meeting of the association’s Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring on Saturday.
