Bangladesh Seeks LNG Lifeline from Malaysia Amid Ongoing Crisis

Bangladesh's Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has requested assistance from Malaysia to help address its urgent liquefied natural gas (LNG) needs, which have been exacerbated by a recent industrial accident and the ongoing West Asia conflict.

In a telephone conversation with Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Rahman discussed potential collaborations between PETRONAS and Bangladesh's energy sector to strengthen economic ties between the two countries.

Anwar emphasized Malaysia's commitment to strengthening its long-standing friendship with Bangladesh, based on mutual respect and pragmatic cooperation. He also mentioned investment developments involving Axiata and MMC Port as part of their efforts to create more opportunities for both nations.
