Bangladesh Textile Millers See Gas Supply Improve Since September 15 Evening
Textile millers in Bangladesh have seen an improvement in gas supply to industrial units since September 15 evening, allowing them to increase production capacity and meet demands from garment exporters. The Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) attributed this development to a rise in liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports that began on the following day.
According to BTMA President Showkat Aziz Russell, millers are now able to supply raw materials on time and retain employment for a large number of workers. The association thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her efforts in resolving the issue.
The textile industry has faced challenges due to inadequate gas supply, leading to concerns about production capacity and job security. However, with the current increase in gas pressure, millers are optimistic that they can meet demand from garment exporters, who rely on timely deliveries of raw materials to maintain their production schedules.
