Bangladesh's Gas Supply Hits 2,619 MMCFD as LNG Fills the Gap

The country's daily gas supply reached 2,619 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD) on Sunday, thanks in large part to imported Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).

Of this total volume, domestic gas fields contributed 1,603 MMCFD, while Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) accounted for 1,016 MMCFD.

The RLNG contribution reflects near-peak operational capacity of the country's two Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRUs), operated by Excelerate Energy and Summit Group, which hold a combined maximum re-gasification capability of around 1,100 MMCFD.

However, despite this significant influx of RLNG, the current total output still falls significantly short of the nation's estimated demand, which ranges between 3,800 MMCFD and 4,000 MMCFD.
