Bangladesh's Industrial Production Returns to Normalcy Amid Improved Gas Supply
Industrial production in Bangladesh is slowly returning to normal after months of disruptions caused by gas supply issues. Manufacturers have been operating extended working hours and maintaining production on holidays to make up for the output shortfall.
The recent improvement in gas pressure and supply has brought relief to industries dependent on gas, allowing them to increase production. Industry entrepreneurs say this will help recover losses accumulated during the crisis.
Former BGMEA president S M Fazlul Hoque said it's difficult to maintain a fully normal situation amid the global oil and energy crisis, but the government is working to maintain normalcy in different sectors, including electricity. He expressed hope that production in the industrial sector would become more normal within a short time through joint efforts by the government and industry owners.
Entrepreneurs like Shahid Reza Shimul of Reza Group are taking various initiatives to make up for the production shortfall caused by low gas pressure and disruptions in supply. They're working additional hours every day, including Fridays, the weekly holiday, to recover as much output as possible.
