Bangladesh's LNG Supply Drops Amid Bad Weather at Moheshkhali

LNG supply to Bangladesh's national gas grid has dropped significantly due to bad weather in the Moheshkhali area of Cox's Bazar. Petrobangla sources report that LNG supply fell to around 680 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) as of 6:00pm today, down from 980 mmcfd over the past couple of days.

This reduction has led to a decrease in overall gas supply to around 2,300 mmcfd, from approximately 2,600 mmcfd in recent days. The disruption was caused by adverse weather hampering the transfer of imported LNG from a carrier to the floating terminals at Moheshkhali, according to Petrobangla.

The state-run corporation stated that the disruption has reduced both regasified LNG and overall gas supply compared with normal levels. However, they assured that 'subject to improvement in weather conditions in the Bay of Bengal, the gas supply situation will return to normal as soon as possible.'
