Barrick Mining Shares Surge as Gold Hits $4,400
Barrick Mining Corporation (TSX:ABX) is thriving as gold prices near record levels, reaching $4,400 an ounce. The company's second-quarter results exceeded expectations with a 11% quarter-over-quarter increase in gold production to 796,000 ounces.
Net earnings rose by 50% year over year to $1.22 billion, with EPS of $0.73 (up 55%) and adjusted EPS of $0.82 (up 74%). The company's operational and financial performance have been strong for the third consecutive quarter.
Barrick also announced a major agreement with Newmont that reshapes its Nevada assets and clears the way for a planned IPO of its North American business. This deal includes the expansion of the Nevada Gold Mines joint venture, which will create a nearly 100-million-ounce complex.
